New Haven Alumni Association announces 2007 banquet details

"It is always such fun," said Mrs. Merlene Thompson, Board Member of the New Haven High Alumni Association. "You get to see all your old friends and find out what has been going on in their lives."

The New Haven High Alumni Association announced details for the 2007 Alumni Banquet. This will be the 77th annual banquet for alumni.  It is scheduled for Saturday, November 3, 2007 with the social hour at 6:00 p.m. and dinner served at 7:00 p.m.  This year, the event will be hosted at the Concorde Inn in Mt. Clemens.  This event has grown in size and participation over the years and we have had to find a larger place to hold the event.  "We believe that this will be an excellent place for the event," said Thompson, "while the athletic schedule for the 2007-08 school year has not been established, we are hopeful that there will be a home athletic contest during the weekend."

But don’t think you have to have graduated a long time ago to enjoy the banquet. "The unique thing about being a small high school is that one banquet covers all the years," continued Thompson. "If you graduated 50 years ago, you are, of course, invited, but if you graduated this coming spring or last year, you are also invited. In fact, you’re encouraged to attend, because if you attend one, you’ll most likely attend many more."

Although all years attend the same banquet, each year the Alumni Association honors past classes. This year, the classes of 1932, 1957, and 1982 will be honored.
