G.E.D. Test Center

New Haven Schools operates a G.E.D. Test Center. The G.E.D. test may be taken by anyone who does not hold a High School Diploma. There is a cost to take the test. There is also a specific test schedule established for the G.E.D. test.

The scheduled dates for the GED for the 2007 -08 school year are listed below.  Please check back for specific dates for the December test as we get closer to that time.

Eligibility

1.    18 years of age. 
2.    Wait 3 months after his/her high school class has graduated. 
3.    NOT be enrolled in day school. 
4.    Wait 3 months for Re-Testing. 
       Some formal review of previous tests is advised prior to any re-testing. 

GED Test Fee is $200.00

1.    Must pre-register for both nights. 
2.    Pay a $20.00 registration fee.  $180.00 must be paid on or before the first night of the test. 
3.    Checks must be payable to New Haven Schools. 

RE-Test Fee: (Each individual GED Re-Test Fee ($36.00)
1.    Pay a $20.00 NON-REFUNDABLE registration fee. 
2.    Checks must be payable to New Haven Schools. 

What you will need - Two (2) pieces of legal identification such as: 

1.    Legal photo ID or valid drivers license. 
2.    Social Security Card OR you must know your social security number.  
3.    The GED test starts promptly at 5:00 pm.  DO NOT BE LATE OR YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED

ALL TESTING STARTS PROMPTLY AT 5:00 PM. 
DO NOT BE LATE OR YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED. 

GED Preparation Course

Completion of a GED Preparation course prior to the test is recommended for best results.  This course shows you "how to learn" more efficiently.  Classes are free.
