Welcome to New Haven High School

Flow Chart

Dear New Haven Families:

Last night the decision was made by the board of education to keep our High School students virtual until our return from Christmas Break on Jan 13th.  It did not make sense to bring them back on Dec 9th and only have them attend sporadically due to finals the following week.  High School administration will reach out to their families to inform them about finals and how these will be handled.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!   Please stay safe and we will see our Middle and Elementary students back on Dec 7th!

Cheryl Puzdrakiewicz

NHHS Parents and Guardians,

With the Governor and MDHHS’s most recent mandate for all high schools to go virtual, we will be deploying Chromebooks on Monday and Tuesday to all face-to-face students that need one.  To get your student a Chromebook, please complete Mrs. Puzdrakiewicz’s survey that she sent out on November 13th.  You will need to complete the survey to get your Chromebook.  We will be sending them home with your students once the form is completed (Monday or Tuesday).  We will also be having each student take home the contents of their lockers on Monday and Tuesday, so that we can do a deep cleaning while students are away.  Any items left in the lockers on Wednesday will be thrown out.  If you are unable to get your Chromebook and the contents of your locker, please call the office to arrange a pick up time.

Starting Wednesday, face-to-face students will be utilizing the Google Classroom accounts they set up with each teacher this fall.   Teachers will communicate with their students via Classroom, with live Zoom lessons, office hours, and assignments.  Weekly requirements and meeting dates will be posted at the beginning of each week by 8:00 a.m.  Students should be all set with their login information as they have been using them throughout the year.  If assistance is needed, please contact the office or your student’s teacher through their school email.

Please do not forget to fill out your Semester 2 (S2) Face-to-Face/Virtual Enrollment Choice Form if you have not already done so.  Forms must be completed by November 18th for all NHHS students

Thank you for completing both forms and we will be in contact with more information soon,

Breakfast and Lunches Free until 12-31-20 or until funding runs out New Haven Community School District Parents, As of right now, all breakfast and lunch services are free until December 31, 2020, or until funding runs out from the USDA. The terms for this program are as follows: the students will have to receive a complete meal from us. If they do not receive a complete meal from us, we would have to charge for milk or juice or any other individual item they would like. We would suggest that our students take a meal from us as it will save our families time and money Families still need the free and reduced applications as this program could end tomorrow without warning and we do not want students that should be receiving free or reduced meals to miss out on that. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL FAMILIES WHO MAY BE ELIGIBLE FILL OUT THE ATTACHED FORM as soon as possible. This program has large impacts on the funds we receive for several of the federal and state grant programs! THANK YOU Please see Food Service Tab for the application and Guidelines

This is open to the entire New Haven Community as this is a continuation of the Summer Food Service Program funded by the USDA. This is a great opportunity for our families in need or doing virtual learning to receive breakfast and lunch for the week
