New Haven Community Schools invites you to join us for our Kindergarten Round Up this week. New Haven Elementary’s round up will be held on Tuesday February 27th and Endeavour Elementary’s round up will be on February 28th. Both events will be from 6:00pm to 7:00 pm. This event is specifically designed for incoming developmental kindergarten and traditional kindergarten students and their families. The evening will commence with a presentation in the cafeteria, providing valuable insights. Following the presentation, you will have the opportunity to explore the kindergarten classrooms and meet our dedicated kindergarten staff. If you have or know of a kindergarten-aged student, be sure not to miss this informative and engaging evening.

The MISD is hosting author Angela Joy, this Saturday at Macomb Community College. Elementary students and families are welcome. See the flyer for details.

We are short staffed for tomorrow. Parents will have to drive their child if they are on Ms Colleen's bus (route I). You can email Steve Bruen if you are not sure what route your child is on. Email him at asbruen@newhaven.misd.net

NHCS will be in session for tomorrow. Although the backroads have been plowed and salted, there are still some slick areas. Tomorrow morning they are also predicting dense fog, so buses may be a little late. Please be patient. Getting our students safely to and from school is our number one priority!

We have gone back out to inspect the backroads of our district. Due to the icy conditions of many of these roads, NHCS district will be closed for Wednesday, January 24th. SACC and Childcare will also be closed.

As of right now, NHCS will be open for Wednesday, January 24th. HOWEVER, we are closely monitoring our back roads for the remainder of the evening and into the morning. PLEASE have a plan B ready, if we end up having to close in the morning. We We will know by 6:00 am if we are closing or able to stay open.

The NHCS will be closed for January 17th. The temperature is expected to drop overnight again, with winds returning causing morning temperatures to be anywhere from -15 to -20 degrees. SACC and childcare will be closed tomorrow as well. Any evening events scheduled for tomorrow will STILL BE TAKING PLACE.

For the month of January, students will be learning about the importance of being KIND!

The NHE elf on the shelf made another appearance this week at the crosswalk during student arrival. You never know when or where he's going to turn up!

New Haven Elementary celebrated the students of the month for the month of November this morning. Mr. McCabe and Mrs. Tindall treated the students and their families to cookies and juice. It was a great way to start the day.
New Haven students are Responsible, Respectful, and Ready!

Students in Mrs. Gonyeau's class at NHE made holiday wreaths from their hand prints.

As part of the "12 Days of Christmas" holiday themed days, students at New Haven Elementary had "Grinch Day" today. Students could dress in Grinch colors, or as characters from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".
Tomorrow's theme is "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" in which students can dress up like a Christmas tree or present.

New Haven Elementary School's version of elf on a shelf!!

Mrs. Savoy's 3rd grade class at NHE put together "friendship bags" thanks to the generous donations from NHE parents! Students created uplifting cards to be included in the bag as well. Mrs. Savoy and her family will be giving these bags to people in need in various cities in honor of Thanksgiving! Her students felt a sense of pride by "doing good" and making a difference!

Welcome to our new app and website!
